<p>Social media is not relegated to any industry. The benefits of smarter engagement know no bounds. However, smarter engagement, regardless of market or industry, requires research and an understanding of how people find and share information and also how they influence and are influenced by their peers. You’ll find that with B2B, information, direction, insights around challenges and opportunities, are bound by shared experiences. What’s different of course, are the networks and the nature of the interaction. Depending on the nature of the business, the top networks are usually not Facebook and Twitter – instead, they’re blogs, YouTube, and LinkedIn.</p>
<p>Companies focused on solutions for other businesses find that participating in conversations for the sake of conversations carry little value. Instead, delivering value or insights based on real-world challenges or questions helps decision makers make decisions.</p>
<p>For example, Indium, a global solder supplier specializing in solder products and solder paste for electronics assembly materials, studies how prospects search for solutions based on keywords. Rather than manipulate search results to send people to Web pages, the company invests in useful content to match keyword searches with value-added original content. The result? The company experienced a 600% spike in leads over the course of six months.</p>
<p>If you add video to the equation, there’s a reason that Youtube is the second largest search engine next to Google. People are using similar keywords to find results based on a video narrative.<br />
The question is, what are your customers and prospects searching for and what’s turning up in their results?</p>
<p>Overall, it’s time to take a few simple, but profound steps to bridge the gap between customer expectations and business objectives.</p>

<li>Avoid the repetitive, one-way messaging that gets you culled from people’s social streams.</li>

<p>Dulunya sich saya yakin, Kaskus tidak membuat FJB by Design secara ter-struktur. Kemungkinan besar secara kebetulan dilahirkan setelah Forum membernya membesar dan ternyata kemudian sukses besar. Ternyata orang Indonesia cocok banget dengan model Social Commerce.</p>
<p>Lantas, bagaimana sich CARA men-generate revenue dengan model Social Commerce? Adakah guidance yang komprehensif ?</p>

<p>The Nielsen Company of Indonesia meliris riset teranyarnya tentang belanja onlne di dunia. Riset yang diselenggarakan di 55 negara tempat Nielsen beroperasi dengan 15 zona waktu yang berbeda ini melibatkan 27 665 pengguna internet. Di Indonesia sendiri, riset ini diselenggarakan pada 8 – 28 Maret 2010 dengan jumlah responden lebih dari 500 pengguna internet di kota-kota besar di Indonesia. Dengan jumlah responden lebih dari 500 ribu tersebut merepresentasikan hampir 30 juta konsumen pengguna internet Indonesia.</p>
<p>Konsumen Indonesia tidak berbeda dengan Asia Pasifik dan global dalam berbelanja internet. Mereka akan membeli produk berturut-turut (4 besar jawaban tertinggi): buku, pakaian/aksesoris/sepatu, tiket pesawat/reservasi, dan electronic equipment dalam 6 bulan ke depan. Walau demikian, angka persentase konsumen Indonesia masih lebih kecil dibanding Asia Pasifik dan dunia. Produk yang paling sedikit dibeli oleh konsumen Indonesia secara online dalam waktu 6 bulan ke dapan hanya bunga dan minuman beralkohol masing-masing 1%. Sementara di Asia Pasifik adalah sewa kendaraan hanya 5% responden yang menjawab.</p>
<p>Ketika ditanya apakah akan membeli produk komputer software secara online (bukan men-download) dalam 6 bulan ke depan, 16% responden menjawab ya. Angka ini merupakan tertinggi ketiga di Asia Pasifik setelah India (21%) dan Vietnam (17%) lebih besar dari Asia Pasifik yang hanya sebesar 12%. Ini merupakan sinyal positif bahwa konsumen Indonesia sebenarnya sudah mulai sadar akan hak cipta dan tidak hanya menggunakan produk bajakan.</p>
<p>Sedangkan website seperti apa yang sering digunakan dalam berbelanja online, 25% responden mengatakan situs untuk toko yang hanya menyediakan layanan belanja online, 21% situs yang juga memuat outlet produk batu bata dan semen, 18% situs yang memungkinkan respnden untuk memilih produk dari berbagai toko online, dan hanya 4% yang menyukai situs belanja online yang juga memjual produk melalui katalog dan telpon. Sisanya sebanyak 32% responden tidak pernah berbelanja online. Angka ini menurun dibanding Q4 2009 yang sebanyak 37%.</p>
<p>Anggaran yang mereka keluarkan untuk belanja online yang terbanyak adalah sampai 10% dari total belanja bulanan (76%), antara 11%-50% (23%) dan hanya 1% respoden yang belanja 50-75% dari anggaran belanja bulanan.</p>
<p>Konsumen Indonesia ternyata masih memerlukan dorongan orang lain untuk belanja online. Sebanyak 62% menggunakan bantuan media sosial dan rekomendasi keluarga atau teman untuk memutuskan belanja online. Hal ini juga terjadi dengan rata-rata konsumen di Asia Pasifik. Untuk pembelian produk-produk seperti consumer electronic dan software, mereka sangat hati-hati. Mereka membutuhkan review produk dan perlu riset terlebih dahulu dan tidak akan memberli produk tersebut tanpa consulting online terlebih dahulu.</p>
<p>Walaupun belakangan ramai kasus ketidakpuasan pelanggan di media, namun konsumen Indonesia masih ramah dan sopan. Mereka tidak terllau menyukai membagi pengalaman buruknya dari belanja online, 70% responden Indonesia menjawab tidak, berbeda dengan Cina yang 62% menjawab ya.</p>
<p>Sedangkan metode pembayaran yang sering digunakan adalah melalui PalPay (22%), kartu debit (20%), transfer bank(18%), kartu kredit (17%) dan transfer uang (14%). Ini berbeda dengan konsumen global yang memilih kartu kredit (44%), PalPay (15%), kartu debit (12% dan COD (12%) untuk pembayaran belanja online. Tampaknya konsumen global sudah lebih memercayai transaksi online dengan kartu kredit sementara konsumen di Tanah Air masih rentan terhadap penipuan kartu kredit.</p>

<li>The <strong>cost of printing</strong> and distributing print editions, makes up about half the cost, while <strong>editorial operations only make up 15 percent</strong>.</li>

<p>Varian menyimpulkan: &#8220;Surat kabar dapat menyelamatkan banyak uang jika sarana akses berita diutamakan dialihkan melalui internet.&#8221; Terlihat dia setuju dengan pendiri Netscape dan investor Marc Andreessen, yang merekomendasikan bahwa surat kabar agar  &#8220;membakar perahu&#8221; yang membawanya sekarat pada perjalanan bisnis cetak mereka.</p>
<p>&#8220;Fakta dari masalah ini adalah bahwa surat kabar tidak pernah menghasilkan banyak uang dari berita,&#8221; kata Varian. Melainkan mereka mendapatkan uang dari bagian <strong>minat khusus seperti topik Otomotif, Perjalanan, Home &amp; Garden, Food &amp; Drink</strong> dan seterusnya. Masalahnya adalah bahwa di Web, situs ceruk lain yang memenuhi kategori tersebut adalah dengan sekali klik, maka pembaca meninggalkan surat kabar dengan bagian-bagian yang lebih sulit untuk menjual iklan untuk melawan pada bagian olahraga, berita, dan lokal.</p>
<p>Jadi apa yang seharusnya mereka lakukan? Varian tidak benar-benar memiliki jawaban yang firm, tetapi tentunya janganlah mengabaikan realitas, bahwa saat in i sudah terjadi <strong>pergeseran behavior konsumen dalam membaca berita dan konsumsi</strong>.</p>

Seperti kita ketahui sales Blackberry di Indonesia 2009, secara mengejutkan banyak disumbang oleh akomodasi aplikasi Facebook for Blackberry, dimana saat itu aplikasi sejenis untuk diinstall di HP jenis lain belumlah tersedia.</p>
<p>Dimana pada aplikasi tsb, setiap orang yang selesai meng-install aplikasi <strong>Facebook for BlackBerry </strong>di HP-nya, kemudian aplikasi tsb akan meng-update Wall bahwa si X telah meng-install aplikasi &#8220;Research in Motion&#8217;s Facebook for BlackBerry&#8221; (viral). Fitur yang didapatkan adalah Update Status, Add Friend, Camera img upload + tag, Wall update dan Kirim Message.</p>
<p>Bahkan ada juga orang yang penasaran bagaimana sih aplikasi Facebook yang diinstall di HP seperti yang ada pada Wall update orang lain, sehingga selanjutnya sampai rela membeli Blackberry untuk bisa tahu lebih lanjut, atau hanya agar bisa terpampang di Wall-nya bahwa dia juga telah install aplikasi Facebook for Blackberry <img src='http://s1.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' />  Persis-nya text wall update tsb adalah sbb:</p>

<p>Untuk alasan di atas itulah yang sangat match dengan banyak riset behavior konsumen di Indonesia yang menyukai atribut &#8220;bergengsi&#8221;. Gambar di atas itulah yang banyak men-drive orang yang belum beli Blackberry untuk ikutan mencoba Blackberry dengan membelinya. Apalagi setelah itu bisa ikutan nampang di Wall nya bahwa dia telah memiliki Blackberry juga <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  seperti gambar di atas.</p>

<p>Seperti inilah penyebaran Viral melalui Facebook yang men-drive kenaikan sales Blackberry di Indonesia tahun 2009-an, sampai Nokia pun kepayahan bersaing di segmen yang sama. Jelas sekali provokasi Viral membuat &#8216;panas&#8217; temannya yang belum punya Blackberry.</p>
<p>Bagiamana pengaruhnya jika aplikasi sejenis tersedia juga pada Handset merk lain seperti gambar berikut ini?</p>

<p>Kita juga sering melihat, mendengar atau bahkan mengalami sendiri fenomena pelarangan akses facebook melalui jaringan internet perusahaan selama jam kerja. Akses baru dibuka pada jam istirahat atau jam-jam AOH/after office hours.</p>
<p>Melihat fenomena suksesnya adopsi Social Networking di Indonesia, baik Facebook, Twitter, Friendster, Google Buzz yang baru maupun puluhan Social Network lain, timbul pemikiran bagaimana jika Social Networking di adopsi saja ke dalam aplikasi Enterprise &#8211; yaaa! di adopsi saja ke dalam aplikasi Intranet perusahaan.</p>
<p>Bisnis bisa menggunakan <em>social networking</em> kemudian jadikan sebagai bahan bakar dalam revolusi di bidang <strong>collaboration</strong>. Jadi produktif khan?, dimana Facebook di gunakan untuk gaul santai, begitu jam kantor yang diakses adalah sebangsa Facebook juga tetapi untuk keperluan produktifitas kantor.</p>
<p>Contoh: Aplikasi pembuatan dokumen-dokumen kantor bisa dikerjakan secara kolaboratif di dalam intranet kantor secara <strong>FUN </strong>dengan model social networking style. Social Networking yang khas meliputi:</p>

<li>Activities: seperti Status update, Friend feed, Follow friend activity, Commenting, etc.</li>

<p>Trend tersebut disambut oleh Google dengan menerbitkan API &#8220;OpenSocial&#8221; yang di dukung secara kolaboratif dalam pengembangan spesifikasi dan API nya oleh vendor-vendor besar lainnya seperti IBM, SAP, Oracle incl. SalesForce.com, CISCO, etc. yang juga diikuti oleh pemain lain yang lebih kecil seperti SocialText, Alfresco, etc.</p>
<p>Dengan OpenSocial, maka aplikasi Intranet yang anda bangun dapat anda cangkokkan fitur-fitur Social Networking seperti yang telah disinggung di atas.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Sejak pertama kali dilahirkan, 13 tahun yang lalu, dibandingkan saat ini, mem-porting Game Doom tampaknya menjadi makin mudah. Dua orang pengembang Android yang secara terpisah melakukan pengembangan porting Quake II dan III agar bisa dijalankan pada Gadget Motorola Droid.</p>
<p>Merupakan prestasi yang cukup bagus, mengingat teknologinya telah mengalami perbaikan yang terjadi antara Doom&#8217;s release (Des 1993), Quake II (Des 1997) dan Quake III (Des 1999).</p>
<p>Ketika debut Doom, 3D accelerator bahkan bukanlah suatu pilihan; sedangkan saat Quake III diluncurkan, hanya diperlukan hardware basic saja jika anda ingin memainkan game-nya. Kemudian persyaratan memori dan CPU berangsur meningkat juga, Doom dari RAM untuk PC 386/8MB  menjadi (90MHz CPU dan 16MB) untuk Quake II, dan (233MHz CPU dan 64MB RAM) untuk Quake III.</p>
<p>Tentu, walaupun games sudah terhitung tua, tetapi fakta bahwa jika game tua tersebut bisa dijalankan pada ponsel/gadget maka akan memberikan kita gambaran perangkat gadget ke depan seperti apa dengan fungsi yang seperti apa yang akan menjadi trend.</p>
<p>Berikut adalah demonstrasi video Quake III pada Motorola Droid. Video untuk Quake II belum ditemukan, tetapi kedua-nya berjalan di framerates dengan 3D accelerator yang diaktifkan.</p>
